Lucie Charbonneau

Lucie Charbonneau is an Advanced Practice Nurse in Wound Care at Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) and Assistant Lecturer at the School of Health Sciences, HES-SO University of Applied Sciences and Arts Western Switzerland. With more than 30 years of nursing experience, she is recognised as an expert in wound care, tissue viability, pressure injury prevention, ostomy care, and skin integrity.
Throughout her career, Lucie has combined clinical practice, education, leadership, and research to advance evidence-based nursing care and improve patient outcomes. At CHUV, she has played a key role in developing specialised wound care services and leading initiatives aimed at enhancing patient safety and quality of care, particularly in pressure injury prevention.
An active educator and researcher, Lucie contributes to undergraduate and postgraduate education and has authored numerous publications on wound management, skin tears, and nursing practice. She is also serving as President of the Swiss Association for Wound Healing (SAfW-Romande), supporting the dissemination of best practices and professional development in wound care across French-Switzerland.
Her work is driven by a commitment to translating evidence into practice and empowering healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.
