Britt Hansen

RN, MSc (nursing), Authorized Wound Care Nurse, Department of Plastic Surgery at Odense University Hospital, Denmark

Britt is centrally involved in hospital-wide initiatives and organizational structures for the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers, including optimization of documentation in the electronic patient record, evaluation of support surfaces and equipment, and education of colleagues, students and other stakeholders. She also collaborates closely with primary care services regarding patients with pressure ulcers.

Britt coordinates annual pressure ulcer prevalence studies at Odense University Hospital and chairs the local wound care and pressure ulcer working group, aligning policies across departments and implementing quality improvement initiatives. With extensive hands-on clinical experience and close patient contact, she is particularly focused on translating evidence and organizational strategies into practical tools and routines that work at the bedside. She is a member of the European Wound Management Association (EWMA), the Professional Society of Nurses Working with Development and Research (FS 32) under the Danish Nurses’ Organization, the Danish Nurses’ Organization, and the Danish Wound Healing Society.
