Alexandre Rodrigues

Alexandre Marques Rodrigues, PhD, MSc, RN, CNS, is an Assistant Professor at the Health School of the University of Aveiro, Portugal, and a researcher at the Center for Innovation in Biomedicine and Biotechnology (CIBB).
He is a registered nurse and a specialist in Medical-Surgical Nursing and as Tissue Viability Nurse. His academic and research activities are focused on pressure injuries, wound prevention and management and informal caregiver.
At the University of Aveiro, he teaches pressure ulcer prevention and management and other areas of wound care within the Master’s Degree in Medical-Surgical Nursing. He is also the Director of the Postgraduate Course in Tissue Viability and Care for People with Wounds, contributing to advanced education and specialised training of healthcare professionals in this field.
His research interests and projects include pressure ulcer epidemiology, risk assessment and prevention to improve patient outcomes.
