In your clinical practice, you meet John. John was admitted last night to the pneumological ward via emergency with fever and low oxygen saturation values (<85 %). John is 68 years old, weights 67kg and is 171cm tall. He is currently lying in a hospital mattress with a memory foam topping. John feels quite weak after some days of fever, only comes out of bed to go to the toilet. He was involved in a traffic accident last year, in which he broke his right shoulder. He is still not able to lie on the right side because of pain. A nasal oxygen catheter is present.
